How frequently is data updated?
Once information is available at the German register, we should have the data on the platform within 24 hours.
Similar to the UK, there can be delays in filings being made available to the register. However, due to an extra level of complexity with German company filings, we’ve noticed there can be additional delays.
Below is a diagram explaining this process in more detail:

What are WZ codes?
WZ codes (developed in 2008) are the German system for classifying industries and economic activities. Similarly to UK SIC codes, they categorise businesses into different sectors based on their primary activities, allowing for the systematic collection and comparison of economic data.
While WZ codes are specific to Germany, they are aligned with the NACE (Nomenclature of Economic Activities) classification used across the EU. The list of WZ codes and SIC codes are very similar, however WZ codes have an additional level of granularity.
A full list of WZ codes is available here.
Can I export data?
Yes, almost all data from German profiles can be exported with the exception of corporate structures, however we are working to add these soon.
For more information on how to export data, see here.
Can I make a collection?
Not yet, however we are working on it.
When will more company data be available?
We are actively developing more company datasets to help you identify and understand German companies such as company descriptions, websites & social media, and fundraisings. These will be released later this year.
What countries will be next?
We’re not stopping at Germany. Our next step will be other European countries. We’re still investigating what this will look like and which countries are a priority. If you have thoughts, please share with us!
Will there be tracked companies in the German dataset?
We’ll be updating data more frequently for certain companies, especially those that experience specific events or reach certain milestones.
However, we won’t be assigning a tracked status to these profiles. This approach helps us maintain high-quality data across a broader range of companies, rather than just focusing on a smaller subset as we’ve done in the past.
