Top 100 Collabtech Companies in the UK | 2026
UK collabtech companies have raised £183m in the first quarter of 2026 alone — already on pace to top the sector’s £307m peak set in 2022. Annual investment held above £238m every year from 2021 to 2025, marking the most sustained funding plateau in any digital sector we’ve analysed. In total, collabtech companies in the UK have raised £2.63b across all equity fundraisings tracked by Beauhurst, with 66% of that total arriving since the start of 2020.
We’ve ranked the top 100 collabtech companies by total equity raised (all data sourced from the Beauhurst platform).
An overview of the collabtech sector
Collabtech — short for collaboration technology — covers software and platforms that enable people, teams, and organisations to work together more effectively. UK collabtech companies span workplace messaging and operations, AI-assisted productivity, document and knowledge management, video conferencing, industry-specific collaboration tools (legal, medical, financial, construction), data-sharing platforms, learning and training networks, and online marketplaces that connect specialists with the businesses that need them.
Beauhurst tracks 655 active collabtech companies in the UK, up from 258 in the final quarter of 2015 — a 154% increase over the decade. Together, these companies generated £14.9b in turnover according to latest financials and support an estimated 58,765 employees across the UK. Across all time, collabtech companies have raised £2.63b in equity funding tracked on the platform, with 2022 (£307m), 2023 (£298m), and 2024 (£275m) all sitting near the sector’s all-time peak.
Key findings
- Funding Circle tops the ranking with £256m raised. The London-based company operates a peer-to-peer lending platform that connects investors with small businesses seeking loans, and accounts for 9.7% of all UK collabtech equity raised to date.
- Granola (£145m, East of England) takes second place with AI meeting transcription software, followed by Sonovate (£144m, Wales) in invoice financing and contractor payments, SEDNA (£120m, London) in collaborative email management for logistics and supply chain, and Proximie (£104m, North West) in remote surgery technology with augmented reality. The top five account for 29% of all equity raised in UK collabtech.
- London hosts 54 of the top 100, followed by the South East (18), North West (nine), East of England (four), and East Midlands and West of Scotland (three each). The top 100 spans 13 UK regions in total, including all four nations.
- Venture-stage businesses dominate the top 100 with 40 entries, followed by growth-stage (30), exited (11), seed-stage (10), established (eight), and one dead. The 19 mature names (established and exited combined) place collabtech in the middle of our maturity rankings — more developed than nanotechnology or foodtech, but well below martech or adtech.
- The top 100 collectively raised £2.28b — 87% of the sector’s all-time total, the most concentrated top 100 we’ve measured for a sector of this size.
Methodology
To be included in this list of collabtech companies, companies must be:
- Headquartered in the UK
- Operating in the ‘collabtech’ Beauhurst industry classification
- Listed as ‘Active’ on Companies House
We’ve then ranked these companies by total equity raised.
If you’re a Beauhurst subscriber, you can view this list directly in the platform and apply additional filters to refine the results.

The future of collabtech in the UK
UK collabtech company formations have averaged roughly 39 new businesses a year over the past decade, peaking at 60 formations in 2020 as remote work sent demand for collaboration software to record highs. Investment momentum has carried through cleanly: after climbing from £153m in 2020 to a £307m peak in 2022, annual fundraising has stayed above £238m every year through 2025, and 2026 has opened with a record-pace £183m raised in the first quarter alone.
The combination of a high plateau, accelerating early-2026 momentum, and a broad pipeline of seed and venture-stage companies behind the top 100 suggests collabtech is one of the most consistently fundable digital sectors in the UK.
AI-assisted productivity has emerged as the most distinctive recent theme. Granola (£145m) leads with AI meeting transcription, joined in the top 100 by Attio (£91.3m) in AI-powered CRM, Saturn (£11.7m) in AI back-office automation, Marker (£8.50m) in AI writing, Frontier Health (£12.4m) in AI healthcare coordination, Resolutiion (£7.63m) in AI conflict management, and Shareback (£5.05m) in AI networking.
Several established collaboration platforms have also rebuilt around AI features — Cutover (£56.1m) in runbook automation, Incident.io (£80.2m) in incident response, and Fluent (£6.89m) in collaborative analytics — describing a market where AI has shifted from differentiator to default.
A second cluster centres on industry-specific collaboration. Healthcare leads with Proximie (£104m), Visionable (£32.2m), uMed (£14.6m), Hexarad (£15.5m), Pando (£11.7m), Sano Genetics (£23.4m), Aridhia (£9.84m), 32Co (£16.0m), and vTail (£4.60m) — applying collaboration software to surgery, radiology, clinical messaging, genomics research, dentistry, and medical product networking.
Legal-tech entrants HighQ (£35.1m, exited), ClauseMatch (£24.5m, exited), and Avvoka (£14.7m) sit alongside financial-services platforms Funding Circle, Sonovate, GSS (£74.2m), MessageMatrix (£8.75m), Validis (£7.50m), DocPortal (£11.2m), and Tradefeedr (£5.24m).
Construction-focused collaboration tools NBS (£31.8m), Aphex (£12.5m), Commonplace (£6.05m), and Oculo (£5.05m) round out the vertical-specific cluster, joined by SEDNA (£120m) in supply-chain communications and Vizibl (£15.0m) in supplier coordination.
A third cluster builds on workplace messaging, operations, and knowledge management — Element (£36.1m, the Matrix open-source network), Craft Docs (£16.1m), Qatalog (£19.7m, exited), Plain (£19.7m), Outverse (£5.75m), Valarian (£17.5m), and Superthread (£4.37m) all developing modern alternatives to incumbent collaboration suites.
They sit alongside employee engagement and rewards platforms Reward Gateway (£16.4m), WorkAngel (£7.62m, exited), StaffCircle (£7.08m), and EvaluAgent (£19.3m), and learning networks Apolitical (£23.7m), Fuse (£22.3m), Firefly Learning (£10.4m), Wazoku (£18.6m), and The World Continuing Education Alliance (£4.92m).
Together, these clusters describe a sector where general-purpose collaboration has matured into multiple distinct vertical and functional layers, and where the next wave of AI-native entrants is already attracting larger and faster funding rounds than their predecessors.
