COVID-19 has hit businesses hard (some more than others) and in many instances recruitment efforts have been paused or abandoned entirely. Over 7.5m people have been furloughed as part of the UK government’s job retention scheme. So, whilst many recruiters may be seeing a boom in candidates on the job hunt, finding jobs to place them in has become much more difficult.

No recruiter wants to waste their time approaching companies that are on the brink, so it’s important to be able to identify the businesses that are benefitting and looking to hire more staff. Fortunately, we have the right data and tools to help you quickly find fast growing clients looking to hire. In this post, we’ve highlighted five companies across a range of sectors that are on the hunt for new talent, and illustrated how you can find more of these quality leads.

accuRx

London based accuRx provides communication software that allows GPs to send texts directly to patients. Established in March 2016, the company has already secured £9.24m in fundraisings. In just two years, the company claims they have grown from just a few GP practices to supplying over 95% of GP practices in the country. It’s services are also being used in hospitals, pharmacies and community services, to enable better communication with a patient’s GP practice, or with them directly.

In response to COVID-19, accuRx have released new features to help frontline staff. This includes a free video consultation solution that went from zero to 35,000 daily consultations, in the space of 8 weeks. With this massive increase in demand, accuRx is planning to grow from 36 to 85 people over the next 12 months. They currently have numerous vacancies posted across a wide range of roles, including a Head of Talent and Product Designer.

Ori

Founded in October 2018, Ori is on a mission to build the future of cloud infrastructure, and empower network owners to build, distribute and better manage their computing resources. Its software allows mobile operators to access computing devices and analyse data closer to the source. Ori is helping with the deployment of software in gaming, finance and industrial IoT industries. To date, the company has raised £1.63m in equity finance.

There are several vacancies on offer, with lots of long-term remote working opportunities. Notable roles include Head of Marketing, Software Engineer, and Senior Product Manager.

Biofidelity

Biofidelity develops biotechnology designed to detect diseases as early as possible. It has developed a molecular diagnostic assay which enables a more simplified and quicker detection of target DNA sequences. The mission is to improve and extend cancer patients’ lives by enabling better targeting of therapies, early detection of treatment resistance, and routine monitoring of treatment response.

Founded in September 2018, the Cambridge based company has already received £10.5m in equity fundraisings. In October 2019 it secured an Innovate UK grant of £500k to develop non-invasive tests. Currently, the Biofidelity team is on the lookout for a Molecular Biologist, Senior Scientist, Head of Assay Development and a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist.

Lanistar

Lanistar is a mobile challenger bank aimed at young adults. Making use of open banking technology as a basis for it’s product, Lanistar has set its sights on becoming the UK’s next unicorn business

The Hammersmith based fintech was founded in July 2019 and is planning to launch later this year. Lanistar secured £2m in seed stage funding in March 2020 and has plans to gradually expand to over 150 employees. The team is currently hiring for a Customer Relationship Management Manager and Head of Support.

Oxwash

Oxwash provides on-demand laundry and dry cleaning services, through an online portal for businesses. Located in Oxford, with it’s services also operating in Cambridge, the business recently completed a £1.4m equity fundraising round partly backed by Twitter co-founder Biz Stone. Earlier this year, CEO and founder, Kyle C Grant was featured on Forbes’ 2020 30 under 30 Social Entrepreneurs.

Since COVID-19, Oxwash has been protecting front-line staff by sterilising scrubs for GP surgeries, and is currently in talks to expand the service into hospitals. It’s also been offering free laundry washes for NHS workers as well as elderly and vulnerable individuals within Oxford. With growing demand, the company has plans to expand into London in 2020 and is looking to grow its team in order to do so. Vacancies are open for a Growth Lead, General Manager and Head of Digital Technology.
