Beauhurst Now Covers Ireland

Beauhurst Now Covers Ireland

Every active company in Ireland is now on Beauhurst, with the same depth of financials, corporate structures, and industry classification already used for the UK and Germany.

Irish company data is now live on Beauhurst, joining the UK and Germany as our third market. Now, you can find, research, and track Irish private companies in exactly the same place, and in exactly the same way, as companies in other countries.

This launch started with our clients. Many sell into Ireland, invest there, or advise businesses with operations on both sides of the Irish Sea. Until now, that meant switching between Beauhurst and a separate Irish-only or global data source, with different fields, different definitions, and no way to see a group’s UK and Irish companies side by side. We wanted to remove that friction.

So we’ve built Irish coverage properly. That means more than just loading the register. We’ve added the analysis, classification, and linking that make the data genuinely useful.

What’s on the platform

The full Irish register

Every active company registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO), Ireland’s equivalent of Companies House, is on the platform. That’s more than 280k businesses, the entire Irish market.

Each profile carries the core registry record: company details and NACE industry code, directors, shareholders, filed financials, and the full CRO filing history, from annual returns to director changes and registered office moves. Our profit and loss coverage for Ireland is stronger than for the UK on most fields.

Registry data is the foundation every Irish data provider works from, what sets our data apart is what we build on top of it.

Enhanced data

Industry classification

Our Irish data includes industries that reflect what companies actually do, rather than relying on NACE codes. Today, around 40% of Irish companies have no NACE code, and many more sit in a catch-all “Other” category. We’ve applied the same Beauhurst industries and buzzwords we use in the UK and Germany to Ireland to solve the problem. Company descriptions are searchable too, so you can define a niche market by keyword or phrase.

Growth and Innovation signals

We track the events that show a company is going somewhere: fundraisings, acquisitions, management buyouts, IPOs, academic spin-outs, accelerator attendance, high-growth list appearances, granted patents, and R&D grants. Every signal works as a search filter, so you can find Irish companies that have raised investment, spun out of a university, or hold patents in a few clicks.

Risk signals

County court judgments appear on Irish company timelines, with the date, amount owed in euros, and status. Use them to flag distress before you invest or partner, or to spot businesses that may need advice.

True Companies

Discover the real business behind the registrations with our True Companies model. It groups related legal entities into the business they belong to, using corporate structures and shareholdings. You can see a group’s Irish and UK companies side by side, including the Irish arms of international groups.

A platform built for action

Accessing data on Irish companies in Beauhurst allows you to UK, Ireland, and Germany together with the same filters. You can save companies to Collections and get alerts when something changes, push lists into your CRM, and match Irish records by CRO number even when a company trades under a different name.

This will keep getting better. We’re continuously working on adding new data and functionality for Ireland, as we do for the UK and Germany.

What you can do with Irish data

Track deals and Growth signals

Announced fundraisings and acquisitions, patents, grants, accelerator attendance, and high-growth list appearances all feed into Irish profiles. Set up a Collection and alerts, and you’ll hear about changes as they happen.

Spot financial distress early

Use county court judgments as a red flag before you invest or partner, or as a signal that a business may need advice.

Search by what companies actually do

Use our industry classification to correctly identify companies and their activities without extensive research. Efficiently complete due diligence, search for new opportunities, and map economies.

Understand who owns what

Corporate structures, shareholders, and directorships show how Irish companies fit together. Our True Companies model groups related entities into the real-world business behind them, including Irish subsidiaries of international groups, so you can trust the information you’re working with.

Read the financials

You can screen and compare Irish companies on the numbers, not just on their registration details.

See the full filing history

Every Irish company profile, active or dissolved, now shows its complete CRO filing record. That includes annual returns, director and secretary changes, registered office moves, and constitutional changes. For anyone doing due diligence, this was the feature we were asked for most.

Keep your CRM in step

Our CRM integrations can match Irish companies using their CRO number, so records line up even when a company trades under a different name from its registered one.

How Irish data differs from the UK

Irish data isn’t identical to UK data, and we’d rather tell you why than leave you to find out. Almost every difference comes from Irish filing law, not from how we collect the data.

  • Headcount: Irish micro companies are exempt from filing employee numbers, while UK micro companies are not. About 40% of Irish companies report headcount each year, compared with about 60% in the UK.
  • Industry codes: Ireland uses NACE codes rather than the UK’s SIC codes. Beauhurst industries work across all three markets, so you can run one search that spans the UK, Ireland, and Germany.
  • Transactions: Our Irish deal data is strongest for recent activity, and we’re adding historical transactions over time.

Where a field looks thinner for an Irish company, the most likely reason is that the company simply wasn’t required to file it.

Who it helps

  • Sales and business development teams can build Irish prospect lists by industry, size, financials, and location. Then they can push those lists straight into their CRM, alongside their UK targets.
  • Corporate finance advisers, lawyers, and accountants can research Irish clients and targets in one profile, with financials, filing history, and group structures, to support pitching and due diligence.
  • Investors can screen Irish companies, follow Irish portfolio and pipeline companies, and get alerts when something changes.
  • Banks and lenders can use financials and CCJs to assess risk and identify businesses that may need restructuring or refinancing advice.
