In collaboration with Marks & Clerk, we explore innovation in the UK’s energy sector, analysing the role of intellectual property in accelerating the energy transition and attracting investor activity.
Key findings include:
• Patent-filing companies averaged £4.81m per fundraising round, compared with just £3.63m per round for non-patent-filing companies.
• The portion of deals secured by AI energy companies reached 13.7% in 2025.
• Innovative UK energy companies have raised £15.3b of equity since 2015.
