Top 100 Cloud Computing Companies in the UK | 2026
UK cloud computing companies raised £3.54b across 200 deals in 2025 — the sector’s all-time peak, more than double the 2024 total and dwarfing every prior year. The first quarter of 2026 has already delivered £847m across 52 deals, putting the sector firmly on pace for another record. Across all time, UK cloud computing companies have raised £13.9b in equity funding tracked by Beauhurst, with 82% of that total arriving since the start of 2020.
We’ve ranked the top 100 cloud computing companies by total equity raised (all data sourced from the Beauhurst platform).
An overview of the cloud computing sector
Cloud computing covers companies building infrastructure, platforms, and software delivered over the internet rather than via on-premises hardware. UK cloud computing companies span AI datacentre and GPU supercluster infrastructure, payment processing and cloud-native financial services, cybersecurity software-as-a-service, developer tooling and DevOps platforms, managed IT and cloud consultancy, data analytics and warehousing platforms, vertical SaaS for industries from aviation to agriculture, and the cloud-native components that underpin generative AI workloads.
Beauhurst tracks 3,380 active cloud computing companies in the UK, up from 1,732 in the final quarter of 2015 — a 95% increase over the decade. Together, these companies generated £81.6b in turnover according to latest financials and support an estimated 301,702 employees across the UK. Across all time, cloud computing companies have raised £13.9b in equity funding tracked on the platform, making this the second-largest sector we’ve covered by total capital deployed. The 2025 peak of £3.54b was reached after a step-change in deal sizes driven by AI infrastructure rounds, with 2026 already on a comparable trajectory.
Key findings
- NScale tops the ranking with £3.20b raised. The North West-based AI hyperscaler builds GPU datacentres and AI cloud infrastructure, and accounts for 23% of all UK cloud computing equity raised to date — the largest single-company concentration we’ve measured in any sector.
- Checkout.com (£1.36b, London) in payment processing takes second, followed by Graphcore (£528m, North West) in AI processor hardware, ClearBank (£348m, London) in cloud-native banking, and Huma (£251m, London) in cloud health platforms. The top five account for 41% of all UK cloud computing equity raised.
- London hosts 54 of the top 100, followed by the North West (10), South East (nine), and South West (six). The top 100 spans 15 UK regions including all four nations — the broadest geographic spread we’ve measured. The North West’s 10 entries, anchored by NScale, Graphcore, and Matillion, give the region one of the strongest cloud and AI infrastructure clusters outside London.
- Growth-stage businesses lead the top 100 with 37 entries, followed by venture-stage (29) and established (25), with four exited, four dead, and four seed. The 26 mature names sit alongside 70 still-scaling businesses, reflecting both the depth of established cloud-services operators and the wave of AI-era infrastructure entrants reshaping the sector.
Methodology
To be included in this list of cloud computing companies, companies must be:
- Headquartered in the UK
- Operating in the ‘Cloud Computing’ Beauhurst industry classification
- Listed as ‘Active’ on Companies House
We’ve then ranked these companies by total equity raised.
If you’re a Beauhurst subscriber, you can view this list directly in the platform and apply additional filters to refine the results.

The future of cloud computing in the UK
UK cloud computing company formations have fallen sharply in recent years — from a peak of 210 new businesses in 2018 to 77 in 2025 — yet annual investment has surged to unprecedented levels, with 2025 (£3.54b) delivering more capital in a single year than the sector raised across its entire first decade. The gap between formations and funding is the widest we’ve seen in any sector, reflecting how decisively capital has concentrated on a small number of AI infrastructure scale-ups while the broader pipeline of new entrants has cooled. The first quarter of 2026 has continued the trajectory at £847m, suggesting the step-change in deal sizes is structural rather than a single bumper period.
Generative AI is the dominant catalyst, with the demand for GPU capacity, low-latency inference, and sovereign cloud reshaping where capital flows. NScale (£3.20b) sits at the centre of that thesis as the UK’s home-grown AI hyperscaler, with Graphcore (£528m) competing on AI processor hardware, Radiant (£144m) and NexGen Cloud (£60.0m) building GPU-as-a-service platforms, and CommonAI (£8.16m) operating a marketplace for cloud compute.
Cloud-native financial services represent the second concentration: Checkout.com (£1.36b), ClearBank (£348m), Form3 (£228m), Monese (£185m), and FINBOURNE (£118m) are scaling payment, banking, and asset-management infrastructure that runs entirely in the cloud.
A third cluster spans security and developer tooling — Darktrace (£173m), Cado Security (£25.2m), Push Security (£15.4m), Inforcer (£79.3m), Cloudsmith (£93.6m), Incident.io (£80.2m), Cutover (£56.1m), and Civo (£17.0m) — applying cloud-native architecture to the operational workflows that underpin every other software company.
With this in mind, it’s possible that — depending on broader economic conditions and the pace of AI buildout — UK cloud computing enters its second decade as a sector defined by a handful of infrastructure giants alongside a deep bench of cloud-native software businesses. The capital is arriving at a scale the sector has never seen, but the funnel of new formations is narrowing in parallel; whether that pipeline rebuilds, or whether the existing cohort consolidates the bulk of the opportunity, will define how the UK’s role in the global AI infrastructure race plays out.
FAQ
The top 100 cloud computing companies in the UK, ranked by total equity raised, are led by NScale, Checkout.com, Graphcore, ClearBank, and Huma. Each has raised more than £250m in equity funding to date.

Cloud computing refers to the delivery of computing services — including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and AI infrastructure — over the internet rather than via on-premises hardware. UK cloud computing companies span AI datacentre and GPU infrastructure, payment processing and cloud-native banking, cybersecurity software-as-a-service, developer tooling, managed IT and cloud consultancy, data analytics platforms, and vertical SaaS across industries from aviation to agriculture.
London is home to the largest number of top 100 cloud computing companies with 54, followed by the North West (10), the South East (nine), the South West (six), the East of England and West Midlands (four each), and Northern Ireland, East of Scotland, East Midlands, and Wales (two each). The top 100 spans 15 UK regions including all four nations — the broadest geographic spread of any top 100 we’ve measured.
The number of active UK cloud computing companies has grown 95% over the past decade, from 1,732 in the final quarter of 2015 to 3,380 today. Annual investment has accelerated sharply in recent years, with 2025 (£3.54b) marking the sector’s all-time peak and 2026 already at £847m through the first quarter alone.
UK cloud computing companies operate across a wide range of sub-fields including AI datacentre and GPU infrastructure, cloud-native banking and payment processing, cybersecurity software-as-a-service, developer tooling and DevOps platforms, managed IT and cloud consultancy, data analytics and warehousing, lab automation and genomics platforms, vertical SaaS for industries including aviation, automotive, agriculture, and construction, and the cloud-native components that underpin generative AI workloads.
Yes. The ranking includes companies at all stages of evolution. Within the top 100, growth-stage companies are the largest group with 37 entries, followed by venture-stage (29), established (25), and four each at seed, exited, and dead.
