The London Underground of High-Growth Companies

Hannah Skingle

Category: Uncategorized

London is at the centre of the UK’s flourishing high-growth ecosystem, with just over 1 in 3 ambitious businesses calling the Capital home.

Here at Beauhurst, we never tire of bar charts and line graphs. But, in the spirit of shaking things up a bit, we’ve created a brand new visual of the city’s top startups and scaleups, by mapping some of London’s best-funded companies onto each tube stop in Zone 1.

If you’re on a desktop device, simply hover over each company name to see the total amount of funding it’s received, its sector of operation, and the corresponding station. See the table below for the details in full.

How did we plot this map?

We took the postcode areas of each London Underground station and identified the best-funded companies in those same areas. Where there’s more than one station in a single postcode area, we’ve plotted the companies to the closest station. As a result, some companies may not be featured that have received more funding than those that are.

For example, GoCardless has raised £162m to date but isn’t featured here, as there are only three stations in its postcode area (EC1). Meanwhile, BLANC has raised just £4.89m, but is still the best-funded company in its small postcode area of SW7.

So if you’re after a comprehensive, searchable directory of the best-funded companies in London, take a look at the Beauhurst platform.
