The Beauhurst Guide to Nottingham | Restaurants & Cafes

| Beauhurst

Category: Uncategorized

Whether you’re coming to Nottingham for an interview in our beautiful shared office space, or coming for a demo or training session of the Beauhurst platform, we want you to be well-fuelled for the day ahead.

Inside our office we have access to an excellent barista, beer tap and many jars of biscuits (and fruit, if you’re into that).  But if you’re at a loose end before or after your meeting, or want to arrange something social whilst you’re in the city, then these are some great options for food and drink. Read on for the top spots to grab a quick bite to eat, a relaxing coffee or stunning dinner, and let me know if you think I’ve missed anything obvious!

Top Lunch Spots in Nottingham

Ugly Bread Bakery

When anyone from our London office visits, this is where we take them for lunch. Based in Hockley and surrounded by vintage shops, Ugly Bread Bakery offers a wide range of carb-y goodies to cater to everyone. Try a veggie mezzaluna for a lighter bite, or go for meat-filled focaccias if you want enough left over for a 3pm snack. Be sure to grab a few sweet cannoli for dessert, the lemon is particularly popular!

Pokéwaves

A taste of the Hawaiian! Pokéwaves is based in the Clocktower, a dining hall in the Victoria centre, and allows you to enjoy a tasty poke bowl amongst stunning indoor greenery. Or, take the short walk back into town and sit on the benches in Market Square. The Ahi Tuna is a personal favourite, but for picky eaters you can get creative and design your own bowl to get the perfect lunch.

Prickly Pear

Prickly Pear is a little bit further out of town, but Nottingham’s 100% vegan and Mexican-themed cafe is definitely worth it! Don’t come here expecting a boring salad, this food is all about the taste—think spicy tacos and chipotle fries. The Aztec is also a hit, bringing together quinoa, black beans, fried tofu, and plenty of toppings to keep you going all afternoon.

Doughnotts

Fancy something a little sweeter? As the name suggests, Doughnotts offers handmade doughnuts of ever-changing flavours, including plenty of vegan options, and always has something new and exciting to try. I always go for the red velvet, but can never finish it all in one go! Our lovely new Nottingham office is just above this sweet treat staple, so there’s no excuse not to visit.

Top Dinner Spots in Nottingham

Annie’s Burger Shack

Annie’s truly has something for everyone—with over 30 burgers on offer, all available vegan, veggie, or meaty. I’d recommend having a look at the menu before you even get to the restaurant. The Sunday Dinner burger is a thing to behold, and the curly fries are an absolute must, paired with a classic milkshake to really fit in with the American vibe. Alternatively, splash out on stein cocktails and start your evening here—you’re only a stone’s throw from the Motorpoint arena, home of the Nottingham Panthers, if you want to hit up an Ice Hockey match after!

Are these the gates of heaven? No... they're even better

Oscar and Rosie’s

Oscar and Rosie’s has been dubbed ‘The best pizza in Nottingham’—need I say more? The parlor has a great range of flavours: play it safe and go for a classic margarita, or try something unique with the ‘Cosmopolitan’ (combining ham, peaches, and basil), or the butternut squash-based ‘Checkpoint’. If you’ve really built up an appetite over a day of hard work, you can even create your own metre of pizza (sharing is totally optional).

Baresca

If you’re in the mood for something a little more communal, visit Baresca for a variety of spanish-style tapas. The patatas bravas are an office favourite, along with the fresh Cocas flatbreads, and the signature meatballs are essential. Don’t forget to finish off with the churros, and jugs of sangria to really get you ready for a fiesta. If you need even more convincing, this place is so good that our resident Spaniard says it’s just like the real thing.

Mowgli

If you’re looking for authentic Indian food in the heart of Nottingham, look no further! Mowgli’s extensive menu allows you to try multiple dishes, from street meats to Hindu kitchen classics, paired with traditional flat breads and rice. Grab around three dishes per person for the perfect dinner. The paneer is delicious, the butter chicken is guaranteed to please everyone, and the lamb keema is a no-brainer for those who appreciate a little spice. Or, you can order a Tiffin Box for one and let the chefs choose your meal for you!
