Tracking German Innovation: New Grants Mapped on Beauhurst
This month, we’ve started tracking innovation grants from the EU State Aid Transparency database. This has significantly broadened our grant coverage for Germany, and it strengthens our UK coverage, too.
We have now matched 9,279 German innovation grants to 5,806 German company profiles, with an additional 1,100 to be added soon. By the year’s end, we’ll be tracking around 10,000 grants dating back to 2016.
With this update, we’re hitting yet another milestone in uncovering who’s really innovating across Germany.
Why it matters
Innovation grants can serve as signals to identify companies with fresh R&D momentum, spot emerging leaders before they gain headlines, and map regional or sector-specific innovation clusters.
The Beauhurst platform already covers 2.8m active German companies across registry data, financials, directors, corporate structures, funding, and more. And our industry classifications cover over 1.5m companies.
Now, with the addition of grant data, you can build a rich picture of early-stage innovators with public backing.
