Deliveroo becomes most funded startup in the UK

| Hannah Skingle

Following an equity injection of $575m (£499m), food delivery service company Deliveroo has become the most funded startup in the UK. Securing a total of £1.15b of investment over nine funding rounds, it is the only private company in the UK to have raised more than £1b.

The latest round is led by internet behemoth Amazon, with participation from Fidelity Management and Research Co., Greenoaks Capital and T. Rowe Price. The capital has been supplied with the specific purpose of financing international expansion, improving service and growing delivery-only kitchens.

A valuation has not yet been announced, and SH01s not yet filed to Companies House, so we can’t be certain of the company’s updated pre-money valuation. But given the growth in valuation seen over the company’s past fundraisings, we estimate the figure will have increased to around £3bn with this latest round.
