Report cover - Fintech Sector Analysis 2022 in Review

While Q1 2022 saw a record quarterly total of £2.76b worth of equity investment into UK fintechs, the rest of the year saw a return to pre-pandemic levels. This suggests the sector is not immune to decline in investment activity across the market during 2022 amid challenging conditions—it seems unlikely that 2023 will be able to match record highs of 2021 and 2022.

In this report, we examine valuation trends of fintechs at different stages of growth and compare investment patterns in B2B and B2C companies. We also look at equity funding into female-founded firms by proportion and take a deep dive into cryptocurrency and blockchain investment.
