Category: Life at Beauhurst
Ever wondered what it’s like to be part of the Beauhurst team?
This week, we sat down with Senior Account Manager, Jo Hawkins, to find out more about her and her experiences at Beauhurst.
Hi Jo! What were you up to before joining Beauhurst?
Well a couple of quite different things actually. I worked part-time in a couple of pubs while at university, was a Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school, and completed a MA in Women’s Studies – as you can tell, there isn’t a set pathway into account management!
You’ve been with us for a few years now… what has your career progression looked like since you joined?
I started here as a Junior Account Manager, so my initial focus was learning all about the Beauhurst platform, how the company works and how to do account management itself.
Within a short period, I was trusted with my own book of clients, and learned a lot about key skills such as how to handle a renewal conversation or pitch an add-on.
Over time I took on more responsibility, from running my own projects to training up new team members, before being promoted to Senior Account Manager just before my 2 year anniversary here!
What would you say is the best thing about working at Beauhurst?
My favourite thing by far is the people I work with. I genuinely look forward to coming into work and spending the day surrounded by friendly, interesting, hard-working colleagues. We’ve got a beautiful office (& roof terrace!) with plenty of social activities, so even beyond my team I’ve got some great friends.
Second to the wonderful people, I love that Beauhurst gives employees autonomy to try their hand at projects they’re passionate about – if we’ve got an idea that could benefit the team and the business, we’re encouraged and supported to try that out and put it into practice.
As you know, everyone has their own unique interests here… what do you like to do outside of work?
Hmm…. outside of work I can usually be found hunting down a good cup of coffee, going to the pub with friends, or trying my hand at origami
Our main role in Account Management is to look after all of our lovely subscribers. We deliver in-person training on how to get the most from our platform – including tailored implementation for each organisation.
We’re on hand for any and all questions and comments every step of the way. This means working closely with all departments in Beauhurst so that everyone is updated on all the newest improvements to the platform.
